About Us

Our family of 6 (dad Adam, mom Sherry, big sister Abby and little brothers Isaac and Brady -- who was born on December 14, 2010) joined the ranks of pediatric cancer fighters when our 4-year old son Logan was diagnosed with a dangerous and highly malignant form of brain cancer in mid-August 2010. Logan's cancer journey began abruptly on Sunday, August 15, when his right eye suddenly turned inward during dinner. Twenty-four hours later, we were checking into Children's Hospital Oakland and finding out that life sometimes takes you places you'd never, ever imagine yourself going.

I'm breaking the mold here to post about Brady, but I really, really need some help. The past two days have been horrible. My first three babies were all awful fussbuckets from 2 weeks on. They nearly drove me insane with their incessant crying and screaming. (And I mean incessant. I don't think I saw Logan awake and not crying until he was 4 or 5 months old. It was THAT bad.) Logan and Isaac both had severe dairy intolerances, so I started off with Brady by eliminating ALL traces of dairy from my diet. And it seemed to work beautifully until a few days ago. Now he's crying all the time and awake all the time, so that means I don't get to sleep and I have no help overnight (or during the day, for the matter, but it's less intense then for some reason because I'm *supposed* to be up during daylight hours anyway).

Anyhow, PLEASE pray that whatever is bothering Brady will clear his system and that he'll go back to being a mellow baby for me. I absolutely cannot take another cranky, horrible baby. On top of everything else, I feel like I deserve a baby who doesn't cry all the time. I have too much other drama in my life and I need a good baby. I NEED one or I'll fall apart emotionally. Thank you.

  1. Praying for the peace of Jesus to come fill Brady's spirit as well as yours! Praying for sleep for you both as well.

  2. ((((Sherry))))

Oh honey. You're right you don't need a colicy baby on top of everything else. I'm praying so hard and will post your request on a couple of Christian forums. We will get the warriors bringing it to God in droves.

  3. Done and done.

do you want someone to come visit and hold him for a bit? I'd be happy to come by.

  4. Brady - be nice to your mommy! Try some gripe water maybe for colic? It worked wonders for a girlfriend of mine. Is he having the same food allergy issues the other kiddos did? SO frustrated for you. Wish I could come over and hold him so you could get a break. xoxo

  5. Is there a way to test his digestive enzymes? Not sure how it works with babies but when adults have stomach pain this can often be the cause. Try going on a gluten free and casein free diet. I am not a medical doctor but when you have so little information to go on and no idea why he is still crying then perhaps eliminating all the possible dietary offenders may help, and your first step of dairy elimination was a great one. I will bring you my cookbook. Try it for just 3 weeks, it won't be easy but it might be worth it!!!

  6. look into Hylands natural remedies... My first one was like this and the last one (the girls). I used the "nerve tonic" to help my girls stay calm... then I could work on all the other little issues.. tummy troubles, allergies, etc...

You are in my prayers, always.
    God Bless ~

  7. That's so hard to deal with, Sherry. We will pray for Brady as well and for you to get some rest!

  8. I hope this is just a blip and he settles back down soon.
