About Us

Our family of 6 (dad Adam, mom Sherry, big sister Abby and little brothers Isaac and Brady -- who was born on December 14, 2010) joined the ranks of pediatric cancer fighters when our 4-year old son Logan was diagnosed with a dangerous and highly malignant form of brain cancer in mid-August 2010. Logan's cancer journey began abruptly on Sunday, August 15, when his right eye suddenly turned inward during dinner. Twenty-four hours later, we were checking into Children's Hospital Oakland and finding out that life sometimes takes you places you'd never, ever imagine yourself going.

The Sickies

Logan awoke this morning complaining of a scratchy throat. I'm holding my breath, hoping and praying that he doesn't wind up with the full-blown, extraordinarily nasty cold that Abby, Isaac and I have all had (and are still dealing with). Please, please pray that he will avoid the worst of this awful illness so we can stay more or less on track with his treatment schedule. (And because frankly, he's been through ENOUGH and doesn't deserve yet another setback.) Thank you.

  1. Dear Sherry, let me round up some more prayer warriors too. I know some powerful ones. Logan is still a beautiful boy, and we're on his team. Please just draw as close to God as you can, and squeeze every minute of joy you can find right into your heart. Do NOT give a second thought to heartless Yahoo, who seems to want to get rid of everybody except Lyn. You could probably put your writing efforts somewhere more lucrative anyway, but I don't know how you do what you do. You're amazing. A great writer, a great Mom, a woman of faith, an inspiration. And you have a right to take a day now and then and just play with the children, and forget everything else. I think of you often, but how would you know that since I never get in touch? My bad. But I love ya and admire you so much. Passing your blog link now to some intercessors.

  4. You are so right...ENOUGH already! Will pray for the nasty cold to stay away from Logan and for the rest of you to heal quickly from your colds.
